SOLID YELLOW LINE
Look What the Wind Blew In
Been spending lots of time here
And for the most part I don't mind
It's time for me to lay low
So hard to simply say no
I'm just waiting for a sign
There are lots of places
You can wear the faces
You can make this riddle rhyme
Will it make you crazy?
Will you be confined?
Put me through my paces
I'm touchin' all the bases
And I'm just hoping for a sign
Though it may not appear so
There's lots of room in here so
You'll
like it too, just give it time
Sometimes I can disappear
And go away in time
It settles all my fears
Dries up all the tears
While I'm looking for a sign
Then suddenly I'm back
Never really left the track
And all this mystery is mine
Move on
You should look over your shoulder
Stay strong
Check your blind spot
You're getting older
I see you crawl in your frustration
While I am all but flyin' I'm just a solo act
No fiction, only fact
You'll be praying for a sign
There is no secret here
You too can join me dear
Pay the price, or pay the fine
There are white lines - some are double
Some are broken, and that's fine
They are so clear and free
Now they're calling me
And I'm just begging for a sign
Still, the one you see
That really speaks to me
Is the solid yellow line
